Evian

Has anyone been to Evian? We are going in several weeks, staying at the Royal Park. Can you recommend restaurants? Has anyone used any of the spa facilities?

We've been to Evian a couple times but have never actually stayed in town. It's very nice. You'll like it.

BTW, you can get free Evian water at the spring if you bring your own bottles. We discovered that quite by accident on our second trip.

Enjoy.

Thank you for the information. I am going to find out how close we are staying to the spring, but we will have a car. Can you tell me more about the spring? I assume it is just for drinking.

The restaurant at the Hôtel Ermitage is said to be quite good.

The spring is set in a little grotto about a block or two uphill from the waterfront. I'm sure you could ask anyone who lives there and they would give you directions.

It is enclosed and in a decorated grotto, quite pretty, but there is nothing there except the spring. You just stick you bottle under the running water and fill it up. There are usually a few locals waiting in line. It's very pretty, very green and very quiet.

Naïve - shmaïve

We drink Evain everywhere we go - not to be hip, but to keep our electrolyte balance stable.

Travelers often experience a variety of transient stomach ailments when they change from one water supply to the next. Not green-apple stomachache by any means, but nonetheless bothersome. By drinking water that all came from a single source, the problem is finessed. We start on it the day we leave home, and replenish along the way. Evian happens to be the only brand that can be found anywhere on the planet.
