I need to book 4 tickets from Paris to London for July 1st. Yesterday they were $56 but I was busy and didn't book. Today they're $78 . Thinking I should just go ahead and book, or is there a possibility they might go down again? When checking future dates, the prices seem to go up.

No, they don't go down again (at least VERY rarely). They will only get more expensive as cheaper ticket classes are booked up.

One last thing you can try before you pay the higher price is to try checking the price using a different browser, or, even better, a different browser on a different computer. It's possible they have installed a tracking cookie or file of some kind (such as a flash cookie) and know that you looked at this exact route before.

I think clearing browsing history will do the same thing. It does on mine, clears cookies too.

Thanks for that piece of advice. I'm familiar with man in 61 website and knowledgeable about booking trains. The thing that threw me off was the general rule that 180 days out is when the cheap fares are available for Eurostar. I'm about 200 days out, so very surprised that the fares were at the highest point I've seen since I started pricing research several months ago.

If you are flexible about the times when you want to travel, you get better rates. Midday trains are nearly always cheaper than morning/evening. And sometimes the price difference between standard and standard premier is minimal - with premier you get more space (3 seats instead of 4 in a row) and a meal.

July 1st is a Friday, and the first day of school holidays in Belgium - perhaps in France too? It would be a popular day to travel.

There are some special offers on Eurostar, there was one recently at 34 euro oneway from Brussels. But these are allways on non-peak days and hours, which Friday July 1st will not be.

So book as soon as you can, prices will go up!
