Eurostar luggage size

My wife and I are taking our first trip to Europe tomorrow. 5 day in London, 5 in paris. We are taking the Eurostar to Paris, while looking at the luggage restritions is says you can take on two medium suitcases.. What is determined to be medium sized? we both have a 21" and a 26" suitcase to take. If the 26" is to big what is the cost to use the luggage service.

Thanks in advance

You should get away with both. Whether you'll like hauling a 26incher around is another question

According to the Q&A at eurostar.com, the key issue is the length of the luggage, not the weight. Here is a quote from the Web site: "The luggage allowance on board Eurostar is two pieces of average suitcase-sized luggage and one piece of hand luggage per passenger. Please note: Your luggage must be no more than two metres in length. Although there is no weight limit, you must be able to lift it into the storage racks provided."

If you end up storing it in the larger racks at the end of the carriage, rather than above your seat, pleeeeease don't get up to collect your stuff until all the people with hand luggage only have left. 8-)

That is a lot of luggage but it is OK. 24" to 26" are considered "medium sized" suitcases.

And I have never seen anyone with a tape measure. I have taken a 31 inch case without problem.

I took a group of teens to Europe. In spite of my announcements before the trip NOT to bring anything larger then 24" I can assure you that I probably had up toe 31" (I had suitcases almost the same height as a couple of the girls) While I refused to TOUCH this "steamer trunk" I can tell you they were allowed to haul it on the Eurostar and did get it in the baggage area on the train. (I also would have refused to pay any extra charges, those would have been THIER problem for breaking the rules)
