Eurostar from Paris - London

I plan to go to London from Paris in early June.

Should I buy Eurostar tickets online or get it once in Paris?

Also I am under 26 and should qualify for the YOUTH Tickets. But at eurostar.com I can't seem to find that option?

Can someone please tell me how much it would cost me? (for a ONE WAY Trip). Also, to qualify for youth tickets, do I need a special ID?

I went to sncf.com and was able to price the ticket if you're under 25 at 35 euros for the 12:53 train. If you're sure of your travel plans, you may wish to buy your tickets in advance because Eurostar works like airplane tickets, more or less. I think, but I'm not sure, that you may need to show your ID when you pick up the tickets. Not always the case. Does that help?

Hi math,

If you try again at www.eurostar.com you will find that the youth fare is 68.6 E each way.

Your passport is sufficient proof of age.

Oops, I reversed your cities but it still works the same way, 35 euros for one way.

Hi thanks for both of your quick replies! I really appreciate it. But that site you provided me with is in French. Is there an English equivalent site? 35Euro is very fair! THanks again.

Click on the British flag on the home page and your options are presented in English.

Thanks usbeauty! I hate to bother you again but if I leave for London from Paris on June 8th the price is 60 Euro - 89 Euro! How did you get 35 Euro? Do you have to be a special member?

I want to order in advnace because a hotel is waiting for me that day and I don't want to end up stuck in Paris! Or I don't want to buy it three days before I leave in paris and end up paying hundreds of Euros!

Correct me if I am wrong though! This is, afterall, my first trip to Europe!

Also for the 60 Euro one, it says COMPULSORY Return. Why is that? What happens if I dont' go back to Paris? My flight is in London!

usbeauty.
Also, I am in the U.S. When it asks for Location where you will collect/pay your tickets, do I pick France or U.S? Thanks again.

The special fare doesn't seem to be available that day, so the best price I can find is the 85 E. You can pick it up in Paris if you decide you want to buy this ticket - also check this board for threads about cheap European airlines. You may do better with a plane. All in all, trains are good value because it's city center to city center.
