Are there discount tickets available for Eurostar?

I'm inquiring for a friend who will be travelling in August. Thanks.

One way? Round trip? From which direction?

The cheapest one way fare from Paris to London on the Eurostar at the moment is 35€, but you should know that when you are hunting for fares, every train at every hour of the day more or less has a different fare. Don't even think about times like Friday afternoon or Monday morning unless money is no object.

Look online at www.eurostar.com. As with airlines, the later you leave it and the more flexibility you want, the more expensive it will be.

Unless you mean the Italian railways Eurostar services, which are a completely different animal I know nothing about. You could see what the Man in Seat Sixty-One says - fount of all wisdom on rail travel:

Hi Gretchen, I just booked tickets on the Eurostar for a day trip from Paris to London, and found that they were dirt cheap - $53 each way. I remember looking to book them last time we were in Paris in 2007 and think the price was at least twice what it is now.

As PatrickLondon suggested, you just need to go to the Eurostar website. It is really easy to book and there is a lot of great information about check-in, etc. Bravo to Eurostar for creating such a user-friendly site.

Have your friend point to a mid week trip if possible as cheaper tickets are more available then i believe due to slacker demand.
