Eiffel Tower could be confused with Blackpool Tower (http://www.theblackpooltower.co.uk/facts.php). Blackpool Tower is not quite as tall but of a very similar design and built only five years after it's french counterpart. (PS Both are equally ugly!)

Big Ben and the Colosseum are easily recognized but closely linked with their home countries, whereas the Eiffel Tower is a sort of generic symbol for travel and exotic foreign locales independent of its actual location in France.
It depends where the target market is based. I don't think it would make many Brits think 'exotic travel' as trips to Paris are sold at the cheap end of the market - travelling overnight by coach or cattle class in a budget airline. Brits would associate 'exotic travel' with images of sugar white sands fringed with palm trees.
