www.mapquest.com--gives directions too. Also I agree I like mappy. It works great.

Instead of using the internet, you could buy a cd called Microsoft Autoroute. It has all the roads and distances in Europe, is easy to use, and you would have hours of fun with it between now and October.I use mine a lot to plan trips, and even the children can use it when we are travelling to keep track of where we are going, with the laptop.

I don't think Microsoft Autoroute (with European roads) is available in US. You have to get one shipped from UK (2004 version costs around £40/$73) by www.amazon.co.uk
