OPPS ... I guess that was all of the answers, but I am not sure the second answer is a word used anymore, unlike the word BOYCOTT, which was coined some years later during the "land-wars".

Sorry for the delay.
As I am reading the History of Rome, let's have a Roman theme. Three place names:
Place 1: "I've found it!". In this Italian town, the famous bather’s life was ended.
Eight letters. The A from Potato is the fourth letter in word
Place 2: An uncle by marriage of Julius Caesar defeated the northern invaders just north of this French town.
Three words (3-2-8), second letter of second word is the N from Ballinglass.
Place 3: Island of pleasure for the adopted son of an august emperor.
Five letters. First letter of word is first letter in Colcannon.

Famous pieces include an altarpiece at (place: 5 letters), which features this animal (4 letters); a portrait of a couple called (name: 9 letters); and finally, Chancellor (name: 5) to the person who hired him as court painter. The second painting is in (city: 6) and the third painting is in (city: 5).

Place 2=Aix-en-Provence (Gaius Marius in battle of Aquae Sextiae).
