Well, I’ll certainly give it a try, but I’m not very knowledgeable about these sort of things – oh well, my mum always used to tell me that God loves a tryer!!
It’s an event that takes place on an island.
Three words – 5 letters, 4 letters, 3 digits.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
3rd letter of first word takes the letter ‘r’ from Cisapline Rupublic.
It takes place on an area of the island, which shares its name with a musical instrument.
I’m not sure if this is any good, I hope it’s not totally crap!

Actually I don't know the answer to this one either.
Well, Intrepid, you should try to answer this one and then throw me a clue I can answer.
Anyway, we do need more people to play, as yk and I think quite similarly. I usually find her clues fairly doable -- or at least I know how to use Google to get the answers. It's good to have a different set of clues thrown into the mix.
I'm guessing the instrument is harp, as related to a region in the Scottish Highlands, but I don't know if this is right and I can't seem to uncover anything via Google.

Now I see it must be some sort of motorcycling event on Ireland, but I still don't know what it is!
I'll try it again later. I need to tend to a few things.
Maybe there'll be someone else who knows by the time I get back.

Correct!!
Portrush is on the North Coast of Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland. The other two local towns - Coleraine and Portstewart make up the world famous North West 200 course known as the 'Triangle'.

Ah, thanks!
I think that most people just don't want to bother with searching for the answers.
I guess I can give a clue now, but if it sits for too long, maybe someone else should give a clue.
I was just at this store yesterday, so it makes for a reasonable clue. m_kingdom will have no trouble with it, that's for sure.
Clue: This (nationality: 6) designer (2 words: 3, 6) has just split with (label: 5) yet again!
5th letter of designer's last name = "e" (form West).

That's right! Well, I'm trying to entice new people to play, so I've to give a baby clue once in a while.
(Actually I still don't think that my clues are that difficult.)
It was an interesting experience shopping at the store. My mom tried on a few winter coats and asked me what I thought. There was one I really liked, but it was over 11,000 dollars. It was a two-piece design and was classic and yet fashionable. (No we didn't get it.) Fortunately I liked it more than she did.
Prior to this, I had never bothered looking at her clothes because they were just out of my price range.

The world's biggest (4, 5) takes place at the (5, 3, 6) in the small town of (5) in eastern (5). It happens every year on the last Wednesday in August and is the highlight of a week-long local festival in honour of the town's patron saint, (3, 4, 7), and the (6, 4).
The towns Patron Saint 1st letter of 1st name is ‘S’, as the ‘S’ in for Jil Sanders.

This one can be Googled, but I've not gotten everything yet.
http://www.pilotguides.com/tv_shows/...o_festival.php
It's a food fight (tomato fight, to be more exact) in Plaza Del Pueblo in Bunol in eastern Spain.
The patron saint is Saint Luis Beltran, but I don't know what the last thing to be filled in is.
