Yes, I was there twice this year; before that, I had never been. My first visit was a typically rushed one -- all I saw was the Eliasson "Weather Project." I was there about fifteen minutes, and then I had to rush to Heathrow.

My second visit was a little more leisurely. I saw the Hopper Exhibition.

I've yet to see any of the Permanent Collection....

This well known theatre (3,3) in (city: 6) currently has this non-European actor (5,6) as its artistic director.

The theatre was originally named (5,6) and built by architect (last name 7) almost 200 years ago.

Theatre: 3,3 ("o" 1st letter of 1st word)
Artistic director: 5,6
Original name: 5,6 ("o" = 2nd letters of both words)
Architect: 7

"o" from Modern

Yes. Was trying to make this more cryptic than it actually is, but you got it anyway.

I've never been though.

This company (name: 7 letters) specializes in 2(objects: 5 & 7). Its flagship store is located in (city: 6) in (country: 6).

Using one of the objects (above), the company makes another product (10 letters), which can be found in palaces in the above country.

The 10-letter product above can also be found at (place: 12,5) in New York City.

Company: 7
Specialized objects: 5 ("a" = 3rd) & 7 ("a" = 6th)
Location of store: city:6 ("a" = 6th), country: 6
Product made from one of the objects: 10 ("a" = 3rd)
NYC place: 12,5

"a" from Soane

My guesses so far --

Lalique,
glass + crystal
chandelier
Michelangelo Hotel in NYC

But it looks like Lalique is not right, as the flagship store is not in a city of 6 letters ending in (a).

If not chandelier, then silverware? Both have 10 letters.

The place in NYC is probably something house or something hotel. I can't think of a house whose name has 12 letters, and there aren't that many hotels that fit this bill either.

Sorry for the miscount (trying to make it more challenging!)

Yes, Lobmeyr is correct.

My father has always told me that I cannot see everything the first time, hence, more the reason to go back to visit!

I haven't been to Vienna yet and don't know when I will ever go...

I found it to be a little disappointing. It's (or was clearly) very opulent, but it all seems a bit staid.

It'd be nice to hear the Philharmonic in the Musikverein though. I try to go to their spring concerts in NYC. They're always one of the highlights of the concert season for me.

Clue: Because of its association with (person: 2 words, 6, 5), its items were hot items when it closed. This place is (misleadingly) called (name: 8 letters). Said person creates a great deal of controversy but has never won a certain prize (prize: 6 letters).

3rd letter of name of place = "a."

Hint: Place was a restaurant, with a name that suggests it was something else other than a restaurant.
