Europe Hotel Recommendations
My ladyfriend and I will be traveling to Europe in late September/early October. We plan on going to Amsterdam/Munich/Valencia ~10 days or so. Can somebody recommend some good hotels near nightlife (we're late twenties) and yes in Munich we're going to Oktoberfest. Trying to stay between 200-250 Euros a night. Any suggestions on how to get between the three cities is also appreciated, looking to book very soon, cheers!

I believe I saw that there is a night train from Amsterdam to Munich...
My younger friends stayed at the Golden Tulip that is located not far from Dam Square (Amsterdam) and felt that it was a nice hotel, and they walked everywhere.

I had dinner at the Humphrey's in Amsterdam which was a happening crowded restaurant & bar with a 3 course menu for 19 euro. It is right next door to the Golden Tulip Centre at the Nieuwezijdskolk (De Kolk). The people at the restaurant told me about the Golden Tulip nextdoor so I went there to inquire but didn't stay there. It looks like a reasonably priced decent hotel for 99 euro a night and they have packaged deal that includes dinner at the Humphreys. Considering your budget is way above, I would recommend the American Hotel located by a lively buzzing square filled with restaurants. In general the further away from the train station (southward) you stay the better the area.

We are staying at the Hotel Anna in August (junior suite for 240 euro): www.hotelanna.de. I chose it for its location and price range. The sister hotel Koenigshof is more classic old world. They're both in the nicer Stachus area which is within walking distance to the train staion but without the sleaze. You can board the tourbusses just in front of the train station. Le Meridien is also a great hotel but right across the street from the train station. There are so many hotels in Munich, another cheaper but nice option is the Hilton Munich City between the Deutsches Museum and the Gasteig oncert hall. Many Fodorites also like the better priced hotels in the northern suburb called Schwabing: Marriott, Crowne Plaza etc.
