MArvelousemouse--definitely do 2 nights in Iceland!!! We did that last fall and I cannot imagine going for less time. I highly recommend the free city walk (pay what you feel it is worth) that is at noon each day. You could do the Blue Lagoon after that. The next day do the golden circle tour. It is a full day and so worth it!!!

And blueeyedcod- I thought the drizzle would be pleasant too, but it is definitely good to know about the rain. A golf umbrella AND a trusty north face? Wow!
