Ephesus - open daily? Cost?

Just wondering if Ephesus is open daily - we will be going in October? Also, what is the admission price?

thanks!

Hi G,

From whence will you be starting?

There are some fairly inexpensive guided tours.

If your on a cruise ship you can hire a taxi with no problem, the problem is all the tour bus's hit it first thing so its very crowed until around noon-1pm. After that you can stroll through with little in the way of crowds. Have Taxi drop you at the top and walk down. Do pay the few euro extra for the terrace houses well worth it. Best shot of the theater is from the top of the Exit path. I forget how much it was somewhere around 10e. As usual with sites at exit there are shops hawking everything you can think of.

Thanks - No cruise, just coming there from Kusadasi for the day. Not really looking for a tour. Does anyone have a website for days they are open or admission prices?

I'm sure they are open every day and I cannot remember how much the admission was. We did pay for an audio guide though. I preferred this as it allowed us to explore the area well and truly at our own pace.

Ephesus was quite a highlight for us and I strongly recommend you visit. Just be aware that you start at one gate and walk for quite a few kilometres to another gate. Not sure how you plan to get there but if you have your own car you will have to catch a cab back to the first gate. Don't let anybody offer you a free ride (no such thing) as they will take you to shops along the way. We were lucky that the owner of the B&B where were staying in Selcuk kindly dropped us off and picked us up. It's just something to be aware of.

We were in Turkey in October and it was a fabulous time of year to travel.

Hi Grover45,
Ephesus is open daily and admission is 20 TL. per person. While there I recommend to take extra admissions to Terrace Houses section and do not miss Selcuk Museum as well as you will see the findings on Ephesus on display....

Enjoy your day at Ephesus
