A belated thank you to TJS for the information. It is especially intresting knowing that you are now located in Athens.
Can I ask what the city is like at Christmas time? Is Syntagma decorated and is it perhaps where locals celebrate New Year time? I know in many world cities there tends to be somewhere where folks gather when the new year comes along but wonder if Athenians celebrate at home instead?

This website: http://www.dolphin-hellas.gr/festiva...reece_date.htm doesn't reach forward to June, 2007 yet, but if you wait a couple of months it will.
This one does have a list for June: http://gogreece.about.com/od/greecey...eecejune05.htm

I noticed many of you got hooked on frappés while in Greece. There is a terrific new book (and website) on frappé and the Greek café lifestyle called Frappé Nation. It's sort of a coffee-table book on coffee, yet in exploring a cultural phenomenon it also provides a colorful portrait of contemporary life in Athens and on the Greek islands. On http://www.frappenation.com/frappe.html you will also find a recipe for this fabulously creamy, foamy drink.

Hi
I've only just registered today as my family will be visiting Athens and then Mykonos where my brother now lives and works. It will be our first time to Greece.
I'd some questions that I needed help with but this post has been great and most have been answered here.
Can someone please help me by letting me know an easy way to print off this thread. I've tried but I can't get it to print continously and I am stumped.
Thank you very much.

bluey,
you should be able to do this easily by clicking on the document first and then selecting print from the file menu. On this site you will only get questions printed unless you click on the body of the responses. Hope this works.

Toppo to get this post moving again as many of you are first timers this year and I think a lot of your questions will be answered here if you read down.
Yes, Milley Greece is calling me back, see my post re Mykonos. I will be off to do some more exploring but the best reason is to see my favourite singer Nana Mouskouri when she says her farewells in Greece. This will be a sad time for all of us fans but a happy one too as we thank Nana for 45 years of a wonderful musical journey and for giving me my love of Greek and other European music. I cannot wait to get over there again.

Oh Kathy, so nice to hear from you again. I left a message for you earlier in this thread a few months ago in response to yours but I figured you'd missed it.
I was a little worried when you seemed to disappear and it was so nice to see you were back again amongst us.
It's great you are returning to Greece. We are too! This time it will be at the beginning of September. Same two places again. I think it's called an addiction. Also, we have got to know Thanos and he and his family have been so kind to us when we meet. His baby is georgeous, just like his dad he he he.
I had no idea Nana was doing her final tour this year. There wouldn't be a concert in early September in Athens? When she sings Irini(?) that beautful voice wraps itself around me.
Love
Millie

Hi Milley
See Mykonos post re my email address. I am off to Canada next month to see Nana again in concert, after that waiting on dates but at the moment the last concert will be in Athens next year. In between there will be France, Belgium, the UK and hopefully South America. However I could possibly be in Greece this year also, will let you know. Tomorrow night Nana is singing in Boston, her very last concert for the USA. Time flys too fast, so much to do, so much to see. Nana has been a great ambassador for Greece and is a wonderful humanitarian - if only the world was full of more people like her.
Best wishes
Kathy
