edinburgh to glasgow
July of 2019 I will be starting a 15 day trip around Scotland. Due to horrible connections from North Dakota I will be flying into Edinburgh around 3 pm and would like to know the best way to get from airport in Edinburgh to downtown Glasgow. I prefer to not take taxi because of cost, but would like something that will get me there in a few hours at most. Anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed? Thank you so much!

You can also take the tram to Haymarket . . . but a bus would be a little faster. A taxi would work too - it is about 6 miles. The train will take from 45 mins to about 1.5 hours depending on which train you catch and whether you go into Queen Street or Glasgow Central.

And of course, you can avoid the hassle of taking local transport into Edinburgh, save over 30 minutes of time, and money, by simply taking a bus from the airport straight to Glasgow.......
Tickets can either be bought online via www.citylink.co.uk, from the driver or at the Visit Scotland desk by UK Arrivals at Edinburgh Airport. See the Citylink website for timetable information.
