edinburgh B&B suggestions

I have narrowed my B&B selections down to a few. Any suggestions as to which area is better to stay. West End(Haymarket) Southside, New Town. Also has anyone stayed in any one of the following or know anything about them. Borthwick, St Valery, Kelly's Guest House or Christopher North. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You might also want to try an place newly renovated 20 minutes to the south of Edinburgh, near Dalkeith - called the Lugton Inn.On the main road to City.

Lugton Inn's not bad these days however Dalkeith can be a little rough after dark and especially at weekends.

New Town will be more expensive for what you get - prime location, though. Generally a little bigger on the South Side. West End similar to New Town.

We stayed at a wonderful place in the Grange area called the Teviotdale House. It was convenient to a bus stop and in a pleasant quiet residential area. The breakfasts are famous and the room rate is very reasonable for the location and very spacious rooms.

The Howard Hotel is fantastic! Close to downtown and classy. Check it out.
