Edinburgh 3 full days - suggestions, please?
SO and I are doing a Transatlantic cruise this coming May and ending up in Southampton. We're staying with friends for a couple of nights and then taking the Eurostar to Paris. SO will fly back home from Paris and I'm heading back to UK. Doing some hiking in the Cotswolds and have 3 full days in Edinburgh. What would you do? Interested in history, architecture, hiking, churches, museums, art and literature. Not interested in fancy restaurants or bars since I'll be solo. Will depend on public transportation. Would enjoy visiting an interesting village on the coast.
Appreciate your input in advance. I'll be there at the very end of May and hopefully the weather will cooperate. We were in Edinburgh while on a British Isles cruise a couple of years ago and the weather was miserable. I found Edinburgh to be magical hence my desire to return.

Spend 2 days exploring Edinburgh and one day take a Rabbies small group tour like one of these:

The St Andrews and Fife fishing village tour or one of the two Borders/Northumberland coast tours would tick your boxes.
