eating in paris, help please

basically i have been trying to get info on the restaurants i should go to. I am looking for a romantic (quiet, great food, great service, and great atmosphere)restaurant for my first dinner in paris. i don't want to spend more than $80 USD for two people. we paln on eating at various cafes throughout the week, but are there some (not so expensive) places i should try? i heard that a lot of restaurants are closed on Monday, is this true? thanks for any info you can give me.
Define romantic and great atmosphere for us. I think you will get more response.
You might try getting a copy of Sandra Gustavson's Cheap Eats in Paris.
She has some good suggestions, and not all of them are cheap.
With quality wine as part of the meal, you can scamper through $80 quickly in many Parisian restaurants. So if you hit a place with all your greats, I have a hunch you may be greatly over budget.
romantic= quiet, soft music, candles, nice decor. are there any places to eat dinner for less than $100 USD per couple? there are a lot of books out there but i do feel better talking to people who have been there and can give me their opinions of what they ordered and all that. thanks again.

Why not delay this dinner until later in the week? Menus are posted in the restaurant windows, so you can get an idea of prices while you are doing your sightseeing. If you find yourself in the Palais Royale, go to the northeast end [Rue de Beaujolais]. There is a very nice restaurant there called Armand au Palais Royale.

If you want to save $ wherever you go look for the fixed price menu. It will give you 3 or 4 courses sometimes with wine for a very good price.
