Easy Internet in Paris
For those wondering about using this service...it's super easy. I am impressed. The hardest part is using the French keyboard but I'm figuring out what's different and not making too many mistakes. Wonder how long it will take me to re-learn when I get home? (Hints: the @ key is obtainted by hitting the CTRL and ALT keys at the same time and then the key with the character; anything else on the lower right corner of the key uses the same CTRL/ALT conbination; numbers require the shift key or else use the key pad.)

Price is 5 ? for 1 day; 10 ? for 1 week; and 20 ? for 30 days.

The Easy Internet is just a couple buildings down from my hotel on La Rue de la Harpe. I can see it from my hotel balcony. I also plan to use it in London. (Do they use the QWERTY keyboard in the UK? I hope....)

hi

I live in France.

The @ key is available from ALT Gr (right from the space bar) + @ on an IBM PC - macs may be different. Otherwise it's tricky to find Q and W !

You can check Email in larger French post offices. Check here for info -

http://tlp.netfirms.com/tour7.htm

Bon voyage

Peter

I just got back from Paris and used Easy Everything to send Email. That french keyboard was a pain to use. I was forever hitting the wrong key. You have to know to use that CTRL/ALT key as mentioned above since some keys have 3 functions. The Easy Everyrthing store at St Michel was a pain in the neck because it was always very crowded. I used the one at 31/37 Boulevard de Sbastopol which was less congested.

Easy everything also has a websight at www.easyeverything.com

Oh, Richard, I am so sorry that some remote tribes insist on using an "annoying", ie non American keyboard. And you know what, I've been told that a few hundred millions of Spanish or German speakers also have the cheek to use a different keyboard. How dare they ?
