I thought it was very good---and I am a stern critic of journalistic boondoogles. I loved the audio/visual addition. But, I was there in 2000.

Good article.

The towns, the dishes and the feel of the region that the article described them to be are generally how we felt when we were in Puglia 2 years ago. The simplicity of the local dishes, the wariness of the old lady at the restaurant and the people in general are nicely described in the article.

Lecce (a good town to base a trip in the southern part of the region), Otranto, Bari, Martina Franca, Ostuni and Alberrobello are described as they should be.

We wanterd to sample the dishes in this region and here are some restaurant reviews that I posted:

Thanks for the heads up on the article ekscrunchy. Thanks also for the link to the review, bill boy. We intend to make Puglia our destination on our next trip to Italy. All the info written/shared on this region is appreciated.

You are welcome. Also, if you are able to access PBS, there was a cooking program last weekend, Lidia's Italy, that showed beautiful footage of Trani and Polignano, along with information about the food. It certainly sounds like a place to put on the list.
