Easter celebrations in Torremolinos
When we were in Torremolinos over ten years ago there was a celebration during Lent when children dressed in costumes. We will be there this year the first three weeks in March and are hoping these festivities will happen during this period. Does anyone know anything about this?
The Holy Week celebrations in Spain fall sometimes in March and sometimes in April, depending on the Catholic calendar. And yes, next year it will fall on April 13 to April 19. But sometimes there are local celebrations before or after that, so you might want to check travel guides or websites that show festivities schedules in different towns, like www.andalucia.com or something more specific on Costa del Sol or Torremolinos.

Have spent many winters in Torremolinos at the Bajondillo with Grand Circle Travel and the Holy Week is essentially when all these parades, costumes, etc occur, locally and in Malaga so true, it will be late April this year. And yes, they are always spectacular and something to really enjoy, no matter what your faith. You will probably be missing it this year. MJ

Easter in Torremolinos is quite a big event, even though if you have time just go to Malaga. The celebrations there are totsally lavish, one would not believe what sees.. For the dates of Easter in Torremolinos please refer to the event calendar at http://www.torremolinos-spain.com/20...s-easter-week/
