Early Morning Train from Paris
I have a train ticket from Paris to Zurich that leaves Paris Est at 6:24 AM. I have a few questions about arriving at the station.
How do I get a taxi that early in the morning? We will be staying in an apartment so no concierge service, I'm afraid. The apartment is near the Cardinal Lemoine station. Also, what is a good time to arrive at the station, considering I have no idea where I am going.
Thanks!

Call TaxiG7 the night before to arrange for a pickup:

If you are unfamiliar with Gare de l´Est, I should either stop by a day or so in advance just to familiarize myself or arrive no later than 05h45 on the morning of your departure.

Gare de l'Est is an extremely straightforward station -- you walk in from the street side, and there is a row of platforms on the other side. Big flat screen displays everywhere. Platform numbers are displayed only 20 minutes before departure, so there is absolutely no need or utility to arrive before 6 a.m. unless you want to stand around the heaters with the homeless. The shops will not be open yet, probably not even the café (although there are cafés near the station that will be open).

Sandicran ....... depending on how close you are to Rue Monge, I think you will find the taxi stand closest to you is at Place Monge ( 01 45 87 15 95 ). Whatever taxi is phoned remember that the meter is turned on when the driver leaves his stand and not upon arrival at your location.
