Early Eurostar - tube or cab to St. Pancras

Catching the 7:30AM Eurostar to Paris on a Friday morning in early July and have been told to arrive at the station no later than 6:15AM. (Actually, I'd like to arrive even earlier to have some breakfast) Our hotel is near S. Kensington tube stop. Would you recommend a cab or the tube to St. Pancras. Will be 4 of us - no luggage - just a day trip to Paris. If I'm reading the tube schedules correctly - looks like the first one of the day departs around 5:50AM. Does this allow enough time to get to St. Pancras for 6:15? I can print out our tickets at a ticket kiosk - where would this be located within the terminal? I'm assuming there will be places open for breakfast at that time in the morning? Any suggestions?

The ticket kiosks are right outside of the Eurostar section of the terminal, before you pass thru passport control and the x-ray machines. The lines moved very quickly. We were there just after the service from St Pancras started and there were several cafes open before you enter the Eurostar waiting area. There is also a small very crowded take-away coffee shop inside of the waiting area.

Hi there-

Arriving at 6:15 for a 7:30 train is going to put you there VERY early with little to do. There is no check in or security, so there really isn't a need to arrive so far ahead of time. Arriving at 7a would be plenty adequate.

That said, taking the Piccadilly line to Kings Cross at that time of day should be easy and not crowded. You can leave your hotel a little after 6 and be there by 6:30, print out your tickets and get a coffee and a pastry from Peyton and Byrne (Yum!), and still have plenty of time without feeling rushed.

Sorry- I meant to say that there is a check-in desk, but it won't require 1.25 hours lead time.

The Eurostar only requires 30 minute check in ahead of time.

Still, catching the tube at 6 will put you there in plenty of time, as it is only about 25 minutes on the Piccadilly.
