I am traveling from The Netherlands to Paris - does it make sense to buy alcohol and/or chocolate in Duty Free or is the cost the same because they are both in EU?

I find the selection and convenience to make it worth picking up the odd bottle every now and then.

Since they are both in the Schengen zone I doubt you will be allowed to shop in the duty free store.

You absolutely can. Some of the items are only for passengers exiting the EU, but many are for all passengers.

Duty Free sales do not exist for intra-EU travel. i.e From Netherlands to France. Anything you buy for travel within the EU is tax-paid... there is only "Excise Duty" on liquors or tobaccos and only duty free sales can be purchased by those leaving the EU. What you buy en-route to France may be "described" as Tax-Free for all passengers but it is not. These products only have VAT/BTW/TVA (sales tax on them) and within the EU this is payable on all purchases.
