Dubrovnik or Split

Hi,

I have a friend reunion trip of 6 young adults in our late twenties in August. We are debating between Split, Dubrovnik, and Budapest for 3 days.

Since we are a larger group, we'd rent an apartment. Some want beaches and relaxation, some want culture, and overall we want someplace that feels easy.

Where would you recommend between the three?

Thanks!

Dubrovnik can be killed by too many fat ships floating in the bay. Split is not that big and with so many hydrofoil give access to a bunch of local ports easily would be my favorite. I like Budapest but in August without access to the sea but with the occasional thunderstorm, nah.

Split.

You don't say what your budget is, but I stayed at the Lacroma Hotel in Dubrovnik. It answers all your groups' questions: 15 minutes from the Old Town which satisfies the historic part of group, and 250 meters from the beach. I recommend that the group visits the Old Town late in day when the cruise ships leave.

both Split and Dubrovnik are very crowded in August
Dubrovnik is beautiful, Split is bigger and probably more relaxing.
