Dublin - suggestions on hotel

I'm staying in Dublin for 2 nights in August. I'm not sure what hotel to stay at - any recommendations?

KJ - you may get more response on the Ireland forum (and also if you put a price range you're willing to pay) but I enjoyed the 4* Mont Clare Hotel very close to Trinity College

I always enjoy The Westbury cos it's just off the main shopping street - Grafton Street. Plus it's a 5 star, which I quite like too!

Your budget would be helpful?

Angela

In august i stayed on the Wynn hotel right near the river. It was inexpensive, very clean, and in a great location - close to EVERYTHING!!!

We loved Stephens on the Green... It was just south of the Green and the staff and rooms were lovely!

KJ,

If you're in the market for a good quality, personalized, and most distinctive accommodation, then you might consider Browne's (www.brownesdublin.com).

Browne's has a can't beat location, overlooking St. Stephen's Green. It's a Georgian townhouse featuring 11 rooms, with prices that range from around euro 110 - 230, including breakfast. Unlike many comparably priced accomodations, Browne's has an intimate feel, offering fireplaces and a relaxing lounge.

Best of luck.

I really liked (and not expected to) the Fitzwilliam. It's a bit on the hip side, but the room was terrific, the staff top notch, and the breakfast buffet (though I did not like the 1960's airport lounge decor) was excellent and enormous. I also got a great rate and it's in an excellent location, right on St. Stephen's Green.
