Driving Toulouse to Paris Easter Sunday

We will leave Toulouse airport car rental at 9 am Easter Sunday, and drop off the car at CDG by 7 pm. En route,
we'd like to stop for midday meal. Does anyone have a guess about whether restaurants will be serving on Easter?
And if so, does anyone have a suggestion of a small town or village where such a meal might be available to travelers? Or should we hope for a balmy day (it's a late April Easter) and simply plan to pack a picnic and look for a park or campground?

Eating on Easter Sunday drive Toulouse to Paris

Will restaurants in small towns along this route be serving midday meal on Easter? Or should we simply plan to picnic in a roadside park? Or eat at a truck stop. (where we've enjoyed good food in past years).

Welcome to Fodors. We merged your two threads and removed the Austria tag.

Try Vierzon as your lunch stop. But why rent a car to go from Toulouse to Paris when there are frequent trains which can do it in faster time?

Of course restaurants will be serving meals on Easter Sunday.

You will need to book and soon, be there on time please.

Given the vagaries of travel I'd do the truck stop on the motorway. As many real Routiers will be booked up too

Take the train

Driving Toulouse to Paris Easter Sunday

Reason to drive is rental car plus fuel and tolls is much cheaper than holiday price of two train fares ir than flights.
Also changing trains even once enroute is challenging given reduced mobility and carrying luggage. Besides, we enjoy driving in France!

I've done this a few times, once I hoped to turn up and eat and it was a disaster. But once I booked for 12 people to eat and we turned up 15 minutes early and it went very well.

Easter Sunday is a big meal day for any restaurant

I'm reserving for Sunday April 20 midday dinner in Limoges -- thanks for advice. The Routiers in that area are both closed on Sunday..
