", Garden and Landscape design is my business "

If you do drive to Thornhill, then you'll drive south onto Dumfries, you'll be within a mile of Charles Jencks house (Portrack). He opens to gardens once a year for charity but does consider private tours.

It's like no other garden.,. Just google it.

I presume you know of the gardens at Alnwick Castle, they are impressive but "purchased" via designers in an attempt to drum up footfall for the Dule of Northumberland on the back of their Harry Potter connections. It's not my cup of tea but impressive.

I also remember the borders of Floor Castle being an absolutely riot of colour.

Quick Ferry question (again)

If we want to leave from Kennacraig to Portaskaig on a Monday, can we not do it, or am I reading this wrong?

BritishCaicos ~ Portrack looks amazing, but probably not my cup of tea, but Floors Castle looks amazing, thanks!

And yes, looking forward to the gardens at Alnwick, and maybe Howick Hall Gardens that same day

On Mondays you need to depart from Port Ellen . . . (unless you are willing to wait until late afternoon)
