Have you tried a map site like www.viamichelin.com?

Thank you, Rufus T. I had tried Mapquest without any luck. The Michelin site was great!

I'm glad it helped, moatenote. We've been using it for some time now and have been pleased with the results. We also use Michelin's paper maps and road atlases.

A map will show you ways of getting there, and from a map you'll be able to deduce the shortest way (which may or may not be the quickest), but it won't necessarily advise you as to the most scenic way.

From Fussen to Salzburg? Most enjoyable route is south to Reutte, then east to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Wallgau, NE to Vorderiss (maps may show 'B' for 'ss'), around top of Tegernsee and stop at Gmund if you have time (otherwise cut across bottom), continue east through Schliersee, Niederandorf, Oberandorf, Walchsee, Reit im Winkl (worth a cafe stop), to Bad Reichenhall from where you can divert to Berchtesgaden or go straight on to Salzburg. A lovely drive which I'm sure you'd enjoy.

Thank you, Twoflower for info on the scenic route. This sounds much better since we want to see as much of the beautiful country as possible. Do you have a general estimate of the driving time going this way?
