Drivers license when renting a scooter on Tenerife

Hey guys! I'm American and planning my trip to Tenerife. I want to rent a scooter there and just want to be sure that I don't need any special license to do so? Rental company's website (www.bikesbooking.com) states that car license is enough to rent a 50cc scooter on Tenerife, but IDP also required. So my US drivers license (all types) + International Drivers Permit is enough?? Thanks in advance!

I'm not sureI'd rent a scooter over a car on Tenerife. The locals drive like lunatics, and the tourists are not a lot better. Besides, you can see more of the island with a car than a scooter.
Make sure your travel/health insurance covers you for any accidents with a scooter.
Car rental is very cheap if you avoid the likes of Hertz.
