Drive Venice to Paris in one week

Need advice on a good route to drive from Venice to Paris that would take up to be week.
Husband and I will have dropped off older teens at the airport on the 7th Oct after a 3 week holiday and we have till the 14th on our own when our flight leaves Paris.
At this stage we haven't planned the trip from Venice as we thought we would see how we feel, weather, etc and find places to stay as we go.
We were going to go through Switzerland but maybe we should go through the northern Lakes???
We love driving and have no issue being in the car.
Like I said we have a week. he will turn 50 on the 11th and I am thinking it would be great to be in Paris at that time (had thought three of these nights would be great in Paris)
Any thoughts from anyone?
Before some of you ask why we don't fly or train, we have a car through Peugeot leasing and we will need it till at least the 11th. We plan on dropping it at Paris airport and not having it at all when are in Paris...
Also, as the kids are flying out at 9pm on the 7th, where could we stop off on that first night that isn't too far away from the airport as it will be getting late and we didn't want to go back to Venice that night. What is a nice town to stop
Thanks in advance

Padua will be the closest decent place to stay west from airport dodgy around the train station nice places farther out on booking.com. Usually like to stay at a truly Scenic place like Garda though.Truly amazing castel roman ruins Termes very pretty.

We have decided to drive to Bellagio and stay there two nights. That drive will be 4 hrs. From there to Paris is 9 hrs so looking for a next stop for one night till we get to Paris. Does anyone have recommendations? I was hoping there is a lovely castle area closer to Paris??
