Can anyone tell me how long it will take to drive from Zurich to Stresa on Lake Maggiore? The route doesn't look too long but I'm not sure about the mountains?<BR><BR>Thanks!

No, it is just cheaper to rent in CH. And, I prefer train travel in CH, but the drive down from Zurich is not bad.<BR>Plus, Lugano is a wonderful destination and worth some time.

I would follow Bob the Navigator's advise. We took the train from Zurich to Stresa and it was our favorite part of the whole trip. See if the Cisalpino is available on this route. Also, Bob, thank you for advising us to go to Stresa. I was leary b/c it is a tourist town but it was so charming and quaint that we just loved it.
