Drive time from Zurich to Stresa?

Can anyone tell me how long it will take to drive from Zurich to Stresa on Lake Maggiore? The route doesn't look too long but I'm not sure about the mountains?

Thanks!

Paula, Viamichelin says 158 miles and 3:38 time. I would allow more time.
Frankly, I would train to Lugano and get your car there. Good luck !

Bob - - is Lugano one of those border towns where you can get either a "Swiss car" or an "Italian car" - - for the purposes of where you can return it for free?

Line Strasbourg, for example (France OR Germany) or Geneva (France or Switzerland) or Basel (F, CH or DE)

Best wishes,

Rex

No, it is just cheaper to rent in CH. And, I prefer train travel in CH, but the drive down from Zurich is not bad.
Plus, Lugano is a wonderful destination and worth some time.

I would follow Bob the Navigator's advise. We took the train from Zurich to Stresa and it was our favorite part of the whole trip. See if the Cisalpino is available on this route. Also, Bob, thank you for advising us to go to Stresa. I was leary b/c it is a tourist town but it was so charming and quaint that we just loved it.
