I will be driving from the Umbria area to Venice and wondered if anyone had any tips for me. Any suggestions on where to stop along the way for lunch or adventure?
I would love any help you can give me.
Thanks

Worthy of mention: Mantova, Verona and Vicenza.

On the coastal route, Ravenna is worth a visit. More inland but along a direct route is Ferrara, one of my most favorite cities with a beautiful piazza, fewer tourists, a real Italian feel, and good restaurants for lunch.

So many other neat places too -- One you probably would love is the village of Bertinoro, just off the highway about halfway between Forli and Cesena. It would make a wonderful lunch stop. Go to the Belvedere restaurant, which has a lovely terrace where you can eat while enjoying an incredible panoramic view. Good luck.

Ravenna and Ferrara would be my choices among the larger towns. But my favorite is the little village of Bertinoro, just off the highway about halfway between Forli and Cesena. Eat at the nice Belvedere restaurant, where you can enjoy an incredible panoramic view from their terrace while enjoying lunch. Good luck.
