How long is the drive from Barcelona to Monaco? We have 8 days starting (and needing to return to Barcelona). I would also like to see Carcasonne. I am wondering that this will be too much driving, especially for tourists unfamiliar with the drive.

Either will advise you on possible routes, mileage, driving time estimates, etc.

I don't think that this plan seems excessive for eight days. I would allow for two days of 5+ hours each, and the rest, broken up in bits, as you see fit.

I did the drive. It's about 6 hours, all freeway, easy drive. There are many other places to see on the way (Montpellier, Nimes, Avignon,...).

We will take a side trip to Carcasonne. I know there are many name-worthy places on the way to Monaco. What would be your top 2-3 other stops?

personally, the 3 I mentioned... but you'll need 2 days to see 4 places.
