I wish Massachusetts would get serious about drinking and driving. Cases keep getting continued. Suspend the license and the drunks drive anyway. Barely a slap on the wrist!

Things have changed in the drunk driving world. Many years ago I was driving cab at night in San Francisco while going to school in the daytime. After midnight two cops flagged me down on Market Street to ask me, "Do you want a fare? This fellow needs to go to the East Bay."

"Of course", I said, and they bundled him into the cab. Seems the guy was dead drunk while driving and had passed out in the middle of Market Street with his car blocking the cable car tracks.

When I got the guy home he had no money to pay me. "I gave all my money to those nice policemen." he said. I then had to wake up the fellow's wife to get paid. She was not happy! He was too drunk for her to rail at, so I got the brunt of her abuse. "Hey, I didn't get your husband drunk, Lady!, was my only defense.

I crashed 4 cars - total write offs, including a car that was 2 months old. Then I lost control of my car at least 2 more times (I was young).

So I won't contradict opinions saying that Belgian drivers like Sh**t as I drive like that ! But my wife and my daughter drive correctly. So maybr belgian males drive like sh**t.

(to my defense one write off was under meds - I was having a burn out, was given medicine but could keep driving - go figure - NEVER let anybody with a burn out drive, that is my intelligent post of the month).

WoinParis, much as I love you, I have to say Belgians drive like sh*t even when they're totally sober.<

Maybe they can't drive worse if drunk as a skunk? Or even better?

I have to say Belgians>

are there any Belgians - I thought the only Belgian was the king?

You're a Walloon so wallow in that.

Hemingway once wrote that he could tell how long the festival in Pamplona had been going on by the number of motor scooters and bicycles left lying on the side of the road and how far they where from the city center, which is one reason why the Guardia Civil sets up DUI check points at festivals throughout in Spain.
