Dresden/Prague - need Dresden assistance

Hi we will be spending 2 weeks in Europe, probably in August, and would like to go to Prague for 2 or 3 nights. Will be renting a car in Germany, but don't want the hassles with extra fees, insurance, etc., taking it to the Czech Republic. Would like to take the train from Dresden to Prague, but we need a safe secure place to keep the rental car while we are in Prague.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated !

My wife and i just spent three nights in Prague, we trained in from Berlin, we left our car at the hotel, I suggest you find a hotel that will let you pay to keep your car in Dresden.

Does that mean you just drive to Dresden, park your car there and hop on the next train to Prague? What a shame!

Your car is safe in Dresden in any residential area for 2-3 nights. For example south of the central railway station. If you don't feel comfortable with that, there is a garage under the square in front of the central railway station (Wiener Platz) where you can park your car (fee) for a couple of nights.

Are you saying it would be a shame not to drive to Prague?
But the places you mentioned are good to leave the car in Dresden?

I meant that it would be a shame not to spend some time in Dresden, only to park the car and leave by train.

Yes, the places I mentioned are safe. Honestly, in about 95% of the city the car is safe.
