I'm so glad to hear about the last week in August open doors for the wineries. I never would have known if you guys didn't mention it and timing is perfect. We can plan our trip accordingly. last year we did the wineries in Napa which is about the same distance for us in Ct as is Germany. We loved it! And we love wine! We can plan the amount of time we need to see and do whatever we want so at the moment (my 3rd attempt b/c I keep adding) we are now going to fly into Berlin. I haven't started to organize Berlin yet. After Berlin we'll take the train to Dresden for 4 days and then the train to Prague for 4 days and fly home from there. This is our 4th trip to Germany, always a diffrerent area and we've loved each one. My husband is addicted to German food! We'll definitely leave the last week in August. I think I've finished with questions on Dresden and Prague. Only Berlin left. Thanks so much for your help..

That sounds like an excellent itinerary. Open jaw is always best.
