Dordogne Itinerary - Would love some comments, suggestions

I'm waiting for the info you get for some of your questions - I have the same questions!
On the market, another idea (depending on when the Sarlat market opens) is to visit there before your canoe trip. Then you can use your market food for a great post-canoe picnic lunch. Our son was not impressed by or interested in the market we took him to in Paris (neither was his dad!), but 1/2 hour at a market doesn't hurt anybody. Our son says he'll like the Sarlat market, but I admit I've been influencing him by describing all the yummy cheese, etc. they have.
On Les Milandes, per the website, the falconry shows are at 3 and 4:30.
Re Padirac, I'm hoping someone who's been will to it will respond, but based on the website, I'd guess they don't have English tours.
Pech-Merle, yes you need reservations. Per the website, www.quercy.net/pechmerle, you can call at least 24 hours in advance, or reserve online (by email) no less than one week in advance.
Lascaux, website doesn't say when the English tour(s?) are, but Moolyn said when they visited last June, the english tour was at 12. The website says the guided tour takes 40 minutes.
On your canoeing day, Beynac, Castelnaud and La Roque Gageac would work just fine. La Roque Gageac is tiny, and will take you about 10 minutes to walk through. Maybe try to visit Beynac near the end of the day, so there are fewer other people viewing the weaponry stuff. I'm guessing your son will be fascinated by that.

Padirac doesn't have English tours to my knowledge, but all the "gondoliers" speak decent English IME.
Lascaux has several English-language tours every day. You can find out the times and make reservations on the Montignac Tourist Office website.
La Roque-Gageac IS tiny, but if you actually wander around and climb up to the top of it, where all the historic dwellings are, it will take you a lot longer than 10 minutes to visit.

"consider some time for one of the neat outdoor athletic parks (wish I knew what they are called) for your son. They have all kinds of tremendous climbing, trapeze, rope, swings apparati if he is so inclined - a great break."
Read this on Robjame's reply. We have a 14 year old and will be in the Dordogne in June. Can someone provide details on one of these parks? Many thanks.
