We stayed in Doolin on the last night of our trip- made for an easy ride to Shannon (1 hr 15 min) in the AM.
We stayed at Doonagore Farm House. Great spot- on the Cliffs of Moher road with a few of the Aran Islands and tower near by. The Sweeney's added on to their house to create a B & B- so basically the B & B is it's own wing with kitchen, dining room and 5 bedrooms with private baths.
I would stay there again- excellent breakfast!
We pulled into town around 6 pm and had a good dinner at McDermott's. After dinner, drove past O'Connor's and it was already mobbed.
We visited the Cliffs on our way to Shannon- arriving there around 8:45 am. Busses were already pulling in. I've heard a great time to go is in the late evening- I'd do that next time if the weather allows!
Doolin seems like a great place to explore the Burren, Cliffs and take advantage of the ferry that goes to the Aran Islands.
