I always just think about those poor people that dies in NYC.. where were they? Sitting in there horrible cubes, working their horrible day jobs! You know what, you can never predict, anything, I'll bet if someone had asked anyone if they were afraid to go to work that morning no one would have said yes. As for me, if I have to go.. get me on my way to/from a fabulous destination!! NOT in my office.. please!

IMHO it does not matter where we are, if it is our time... I agree with other posters, Go ahead with the trip and don't worry. We are still planning our trip to England / Scotland & Ireland for July 2003 no matter what the politicans deside on doing (They ALL are stirring up the trouble - not just the USA!!!) There has always been trouble in the Middle East & will be in the future.

The concern for me is usually on the flight, fears of attacks at the airport, on the plane, or being shot at now as I take off/land. However, it is a risk I think is still worth taking for the reward of travel. Once I'm in Europe I feel as secure as I do here.

My concern is that as a Canadian, most Europeans cannot tell us apart (we DO sound different)from Americans. Had someone rant on at me about American policies last year in Paris. Practically had to show him my passport to convince him I wasn't American. Remember the days when you Americans used to wear a Canadian flag when you went abroad???

<BR><BR>Way back in this thread, x said, "...Or else George Bush will dictate our future". I feel that the words "George Bush" and "dictate" will run and run together for a good old while to come.<BR><BR>I travelled transatlantic to the U.S. in November to go to my brother's wedding. Didn't worry me.<BR><BR>I'll be going to the Netherlands for Christmas. Doesn't worry me. <BR><BR>Travel now or do it soon, because who knows what that eejit president might waste for all of us over the next year.

"who knows what that eejit president might waste for all of us over the next year"<BR><BR>WOW, I didn't know George was the one who sent the Marines to attack New York and DC on 9/11...<BR><BR>WOW, I must be missing something... Was he the one who attacked those Australian Infidels in Bali?<BR><BR>Bad Bad George. I am buying a gas mask. Now.

BTW, (and this time I'm serious):<BR><BR>I am heading for Israel at the end of the month. Taking my daughters with me. Teenagers LOVE that country. I am not going to change one bit of my travel plans, just because of wome NUTS trying to impose their STUPID religion over the world.<BR><BR>No way.

I suggest you travel now. Youll get a better exchange rate. The US economy is already killing economies worldwide. The politically incorrect target of 4.5M unemployed in Germany is about to be reached and nearly every skilled person I know in the UK is out of work. Funny how governments always wage war when their economies are in bad shape.

Risks of Traveling?<BR><BR>Unless things change drastically, it will remain a fact that more tourists will die in unpublicized traffic accidents on the ground than will succumb in a dramatic airplane incident. <BR><BR>(Not to mention trains -- remember that French overnight train fire last month?)
