Does anyone have a comment on Rose Travel shore excursions from Cobh?

We will be in Cobh for a day in early June, I am looking at a shore excursion offered by Rose Travel. has anyone used this company and have comments on their service, reliability etc? Is going to Killarney too far for a day trip from Cobh.? We will dock at 9 and will have to back onboard at. 8:30.

I've asked the editors to tag this thread for Ireland to make it visible to people who look at threads by country.

Killarney is possible as a day trip. Bus will take about 2- 2.5 hours each way. That leaves about 5 hours or so to walk around and explore -- reduced by any other sites that they might stop at.

I'm not a Cruise person, so can't say if it's worth it, or not, for you -- but the prospect of spending between 1/3 and 1/2 of the day on a bus doesn't sound inviting ...

LOTS to do in and around Cobh. You could also take the train to Midelton and tour the Distillery OR train into Cork city.

Middleton, Fota (House and wildlife centre) or a train/bus trip to Blarney might be the extent. Your Cruise will no doubt be offering a trip to Kinsale which could be done independently.

Killarney is a Town, Has a good cathedral (nearly as good as Cobh) but you need a few hours just to smell the air of the national park on a jaunting cart, you need best part of a day to include Muckross and no time on your schedule to even contemplate the Invaragh (Ring of Kerry) so overall going for the sake of going makes little if any sense.
