AHaugeto's suggestion was the best though! It's a sign of the times: the same mentality that results in road rage results air rage. Manners and civility have officially left the building...all buildings!
Example: we had an early flight a couple of weeks ago, and arriving at the airport before 7 AM, my husband had one thought on his mind: COFFEE! We passed through the security check and immediately to the left, there was the Starbucks sign, smiling and beckoning to him. He blindly stumbled over and approached the empty register to place his order. What he had failed to notice was that there were actually two registers, and the other one had two people at it, one being waited on and one waiting. OK, he was wrong...he should have seen that, but he hadn't. He was totally oblivious to there being anyone at the counter at another register. The person waiting turned to me and said loudly, "WHAT, am I invisible? Didn't he <i>see</i> me?" "No", I answered apologetically, "I know he didn't, I'm sorry." Then to my husband again, now even louder, "<b>hey I'm standing here what the hell do you think you're doing</b>?" Now people are turning around all around us in the concourse, my husband apologizes too, but now <i>I'm</i> getting angry because this man is being such a total jerk about an accident and continuing on and on, then my husband gets angry too (something I have practically never seen despite many many MANY years of marriage). "Give this man his coffee, please, he obviously needs it far more than I do". The man grabs the coffee and stamps off toward his gate...in the wrong direction we notice, as seconds later he turns and stomps back in the opposite direction to the other set of gates. lol Although mine was wrong initially, the other's reaction was so far out of line that the people in Starbucks were apologizing to <i>him</i> after the other left!
Now obviously something had already happened to that crazed coffee drinker before we got there. A business deal gone sour? A missed connection? Then we arrive and complicate matters and now he'll get on a plane and give some poor flight crew holy hell...through no fault of their own, over some slight, real or imagined. Geez...let there be laughing gas, everywhere!!
By the way, thanks NYCFoodSnob. I registered and bookmarked the site. Hadn't realized it was available online, free for the taking.

Good Lord!! OO, after reading this, I have to remember that there are SO many people out there like walking time bombs, just ready to go off!

Re the Valium suggestions: I have tried a really small dose but it made me feel horrible the next day. No, it was not jet lag. I know those symptoms only too well, it was definitely the Valium. I didn't want to believe it so like an idiot I tried it a second time and felt the same.The only way to describe it is spaced out

I don't feel spaced out after taking Valium, even if I take two with a gin chaser. But, of course, I have had my stomach pumped 24 times.

Someone suggested Xanax, that might be a good choice also, no worries, no anxiety, and you don't get depressed.
Might even be able to drink without getting your stomach pumped
although I wouldn't recommend it..Black beauties, didn't truck drivers take those so they would stay awake while they drove across country? I heard about those in Hollywood~

Yes, John, I danced with L at Studio and a host of other black beauty users. Quaaludes were also the rage. Boy do I have some stories (one of the many benefits of age). But, those are for another thread.
