Do we need to prebook tickets for Anne Frank museum over Easter weekend?

We arrive in Amsterdam on Friday before Easter. Should we prebook tickets to the museum for that evening as Easter is a very crowded time in the city? My understanding is early evening is the best time. And, can you prebook on the internet?

As far as I know you cannot prebook for the Anne Frank museum. It is open until 9 pm and it takes about an hour to see everything. I would not expect it to be really busy in the evening. www.annefrank.org is the website

Hetismij: Thank you for the reply. I just checked the website and you are correct I cannot prebook. However they are open until 9 pm so that should give us plenty of time.

Glad to have helped - and it is well worth a visit. I took my sons there when they were younger and it left a deep impression on them (and me).

it is one place in Amsterdam where there is a perpetual line up. Be ready!

don't know if you can pre-book or not.

nevertheless a year ago the Amsterdam Tourist Office near the Leidesplein, the VVV, had a sign posted saying they were selling evening admission to Anne Frank House with reservations. I was considering doing it but did not. But that was available then but maybe not now.

I suggest going in the evening. We were there last June and went around 5pm... not one single person was in line!!! We walked right through!

TXgalinGA: We plan to go early evening but I am assuming it will be crowded no matter what as it is Easter weekend. I am hoping Friday may not be as crowded.

hetismij: We are taking our 14 year old niece with us this trip and I think it will make a big impression on her, especially the connection to Anne's age.
