Do I have to have a Swiss pass in order to book train seat seats?

I have been having difficulty getting a Swiss pass online. For some reason it says my identity doesn’t work. I hate to wait to get to Switzerland to book train seats for some of the scenic trains.

Nope. You just need to present it when asked by a train conductor.
