There is a direct bus. Takes 40 mins to 1 hour depending on the train station you are leaving from. Taxi is 30 to 45 mins depending on traffic.

We were planning on taking a train from Paris to Lyon, pick up a car and drive to Lake Annecy. The only problem is that we were going to do one of the long term car leases, which means there is a pickup at the airport in Lyon and not at the train station. If the train station is 40 minutes to 1 hour from the Lyon Airport, this doesn't seem like a very good plan to me. Any ideas?

It looks like there may be a TGV train directly from Paris to the Lyon Airport. It is listed as PARIS GARE DE LYON - LYON ST EXUPERY TGV. Would this be correct?

Yes there are direct trains from Paris-Lyon to St Exupery Airport (TGV) - to get all the schedules go to www.budgeteuropetravel.com's home page and click on "All European Train Schedules" link on the home page and instantly pops up an English schedule page where you just put in Paris-Lyon and going to Lyon St Exupery and you'll get all the schedules for the day you like.

The following are the first three direct trains Paris to Lyon airport for the day i put in (mar 23) - so this is certainly the best option.
