Disneyland Paris?
Everyone says that I "must see Paris"... I don't speak a lick of French and I'm not sure that I have much interest in going to the Louvre or anything of that sort. but I'd love to see the Eiffel tower and possibly go to Disneyland Paris. Is 2 days enough for that? Also, have you been to Disneyland paris? thoughts, opinions?

No, 2 days is barely enough to wake up and figure out where you are in Paris. And no, in 111 trips to Paris I have never even entertained the thought of going to Disneyland, but many people do, which is fine by me.
Going to the Louvre is hardly a requirement. Why are you even going to Paris if you have only two days and are contemplating spending one of them with cartoon characters?

There is a HECK of a LOT more to Paris than the eiffel Tower and the Louvre (and yes, I've been to DL Paris - but not until maybe my 8th or 9th visit)
One day isn't enough for even the teeniest overview of Paris, and one day really isn't enough to see everything at DL
Why bother w/ the hassle and money going to Paris to not see any of it?

I've been to Disneyland Paris, but it was way back during the opening month. I personally wasn't impressed. I guess it's because I've been going to the original Disneyland regularly since around 1957/ 1958, back when I was a toddler. Maybe that had something to do with it. But, since I when I'm on vacation in Paris, I'm usually there for 7-8 days, I had plenty of time to check it out.
I've been going to Paris, almost annually since 1976 and find plenty of things to do besides going to the Eiffel Tower, which I've never been up, and to Disneyland Paris. There's a large variety of museums and exhibits on various topics, art galleries, shopping, and I also like going to concerts in Saint Julien Le Pauvre church in the 5th. Plus, I like to just roam around and see what I might come upon as there's usually plenty to come upon.
Happy Travels!

It's such an infantile thing for an adult to want to do. The attraction with all things Disney is completely beyond me.
To the OP, posts like this one make your Fodor's name look a bit ridiculous.
Sorry to be harsh, but it's really dumb. Please, please don't bother with Paris if that's all you know about it.
However, to answer our question, yes 2 days is enough to do 2 things and then head to your next destination.

I wouldn"t waste such a short time in Paris going to Disney. I live 20 miles from FlDisney andI was there once20 years ago to go to the French Pav. to buy some Quimper! It is an expensive trip to boot. Paris is more than the Louvre and Eiffel Tower. Just walkingthe streets and window licking can take up 2 days!!

Your plan is a bit outlandish. Paris is a fabulous city and worth far more time than 2 days. If your user name reflects your interests, Paris is the perfect spot for you. Consider a guidebook and some thought about what you would like to see, do and eat before you limit yourself to one or two days.

OP, why put Paris on your wishlist?
If you like cooking and baking, take a class... or two. There are amazing cooking classes there.
If all you do is go to Paris and see the ET and then DLP - why?!???

I would not recommend going to DLP on your first trip to Paris and especially if you only have 2 days. There are so many things to see/do in Paris that like others have said, you will have barely figured out where you are by the end of your second day.
I've been to DLP and like Guenmai, was not really impressed. It was interesting but the vibe is very different than the original DL or WDW. More importantly, though - I don't think it's worth a day away from Paris since you only have a short time there.
That being said, the rudeness on this board really astounds me sometimes. There are ways to answer the question without throwing out the words "infantile" and "dumb". Great way to make yourself feel superior, I guess.

Different strokes. I've been to DL in Anaheim countless times, DL Hong King once and DL Paris once . . . But they are a tiny fraction of my total travel. I absolutely LOVE DL -- doesn't make me infantile.
But I still wouldn't go there on a first (or 3rd) trip to Paris.

Paris is an incredible city with a fantastic number of "big" sights - besides the Eiffel Tower and the Louvres (although I think both are must sees) - from a host of museums, churches, historical sights and fascinating neighborhoods to explore.
You don;t need more than a few basic phrases of French (learnable in about 10 minutes) to do any of it.
And while I have been to Paris - I think - 17 times it would never occur to me to go to Disney. (But then I won;t do it voluntarily here either.)
Why go to Paris at all if there isn;t much you want to see or do?
If you want a different type of vacation (hiking or wine tasting or clog dancing or ???) then why not go where you can find those activities?

I've been to Disneyland Paris several times and it has gone downhill completely. They've done away with a lot of the shows (there used to be a Lion King show, long gone). There used to be an evening parade similar to the Main Street Electrical Parade. Long gone. It is a cheap version of Disneyland in Anaheim and the Magic Kingdom in Orlando. If you're a Disney freak and have several days in Paris, fine. It is easy enough to get to, true. But the last time I was there, I was totally set back by their failure to make an effort to enforce the smoking regulations. People walk around there with impunity smoking their cancer sticks polluting my lungs and after the last visit and the failure of management to respond to my complaint, I will not go there again.
My suggestion. Go up early on the Eifel Tower. After finishing that, right there at the foot of the Eifel Tower yu can easily hop on a Seine River cruise. When that finishes, hop on the metro to L'etoile and walk down Champs Elysee from the Arc de Triomphe up to place de la concorde. Stop off somewhere for lunch. Not really a bad way to do things and very enjoyable. That evening, you can go to Place St. Michel, stop off at Notre Dame, pick one of the touristy type restaurants (not elegant mind you but functional and not overly expensive).
On the second day, visit some of the museums. You're not a Louvre person? Fine. You can go to Invalides and spend an entire morning there including the tomb of Napoleon. Others can suggest other things to do. And I'm not saying I'm an expert or anything but this is the way I often handle spending a couple of days in Paris. So much to do.

On a short visit to Paris, only diehard Disney fans should consider a trip to Disneyland Paris, and of course it is only to compare the minor differences among the various parks. American Disney fans are generally disappointed and Tokyo and Hong Kong Disney fans are not.
But there is no set rule on this -- for example, since Disneyland Paris is more recent than the American parks, obviously some of the attractions are more modern.

wow stcirq - you sound bitter for some reason unbeknownst to me!
LET ME CLARIFY - I have an unlimited amount of time! Much like this past summer, I will fly into one European city and fly out of another. what happens during the entire month in between arrival and departure is purely up to me! personally, I love Disney... I grew up in Los Angeles going to Disneyland so I thought it'd be kind of neat to see Disneyland in another country....
I of course want to see the Eiffel tower and I"m open to other suggestions... I can stay longer than 2 days. I just wanted feedback

ALSO STCIRQ - Yes I have another post about Ireland - I am also planning a trip to Ireland - possibly within this same trip... I"m considering flying HOME from Ireland so I'd spend about 4-7 days there and meet a friend there. Again... when I start a trip - its all about exploring. I pick what city I'll fly into and what city I'll fly home from and then fill in the pieces in between. So a lot of my questions are to help me decide "what to see next"
As far as greece, you may be referring to a post where I questioned EF TOURS because my school often offers tours for course credit through EF TOURS and I hadn't heard such lovely things about them.

mamcalice and Janisj- thank you for not being harsh in your post. I'm amazed at how rude some people on here are. My user name does reflect my interests and I am sure that Paris has some wonderful culinary opportunities! I admit that I don't know about a lot that Paris has to offer, but I was intrigued by going to one of my favorite theme parks in another country. As metnioned above, I was only considering 2 days - I am flexible and can spend longer. I'm still in the beginning phases of planning this trip and perhaps I plan my travels differently than others...
