Has anyone done one of the Disney Escorted tours to Italy?

You should check out disboards.com. They have an entire section devoted to the Adventures by Disney tours. There are several people who have taken them and various trip reports there. Also, there was a woman who wrote a trip report on the Italy trip on Passporter.com.

This sounds more like an advertisment (I actually book Disney Adventures, and do post on the Dis site). They are great for families, but pricey. If I'd gone to Europe last year with them, it would have cost the same thing for one week (not including all meals) that we paid for 2 1/2. Oh - and not including airfare and souvenirs either.
For 2 people, one week, you can easily be looking at $5800 or more without airfare.

But at least it does get some people out of just going to Disney, and seeing more of the world.

Oh, sorry! I didn't even see the short first post! I thought the first one was about the Disboards.

If you are a family with a fair bit of money to spend, it can be a very good option. The Disboards and other places have people who have been. But if you are just two people, I don't think it'd normally be worth it (but to each their own!)

I apologize. I didn't intend for my first post to appear like an advertisement. I am in NO way affiliated with either of the websites that I cited. In fact, I thought that I was helping direct the OP to more precise answers.

I did look at booking Adventures by Disney for my upcoming trip to Italy and dismissed it as much too expenisive as I found all package tours to be. Instead I am booked independently and am traveling in February.
