Discount rail tickets in UK??

I need to take a trip for work to the UK and need to take train from LHR to destination (colchester). Is there any discount rail tickets or sites that have discounts? Any ideas?

The terminus for Colchester is London Liverpool Street. You can check services and prices at www.nationalrail.co.uk.

The cheapest way to get to Liverpool Street is to take the tube from Heathrow: change at Hammersmith (walk across the platform) for the eastbound District Line, then again anywhere between Gloucester Road and Mansion House for the Circle Line to Liverpool Street (they use the same platforms).

All the UK train websites sell discount tickets - London to Colchester starts at £8 if booked several weeks in advance

See nationalrail.co.uk and the train operating company links from there - ignore any website that requires you to pay fees for booking or card use

Pressed too soon:

You could do it quicker with Heathrow Express to Paddington and taking the Circle Line from there, but that's expensive, and the interchanges are more cumbersome.

alanRow, London to Colchester starts at £8. Do you have a link to any of those?

If you look on nationalrail.co.uk, as Patrick and Alan noted, and search for London to Colchester on your date, there is a big "buy cheapest for xxxxx" button in yellow at the top.
