Disabled badge in UK
DH has OA, but is reluctant to get the mirror hanger blue badge, although he really needs one, as he is unable to walk even short distances without pain. We will be travelling to the UK later this year, and I was wondering if a US issued badge will be valid for parking a rental car in disabled parking spaces in the UK. Thanks in advance.

Ok, a bit of an odd one. The EU agreed to recognise the US "Blue Badge" which is what it is called in the UK. But the UK has left the EU and is involved in very stupid battle to remove all vestiges of EU rules. But, since that is nonsense (and would need the UK to change 40 years of legislation) we are agreeing to continue to recognise the US badge.
That of course doesn't mean that some idiot traffic warden may have a different opinion. But since most of the country cannot afford traffic wardens (see note about leaving the EU) that is less of an issue than you might think.
It is worth reading the Highway code before driving in the UK as rules will vary from other countries. https://www.gov.uk/browse/driving/hi...de-road-safety

Badges are handled by each state (usually via the DMV) so how long it takes depends on where you live, and how efficient your doctor and the state gov't employees are.
