Dijon or Lyon

I am trying to decide weather to take the train from Paris for a day trip to Lyon or Dijon. Can anyone give me a little detail on both. I'd like something scenic but also I'd like to the city to be interesting as well.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

agree with the preious post. Dijon is pretty town- Lyon is elegant city. It has two rivers, some of the best food in france, parks, an opera house and cinemas that some times english language films (for when it rains).

Lyon is much more interesting in my opinion, however only one day seems too little time.
For one day, maybe Beaune is the best choice, .... Dijon also is charming, ...if you have the change to come back to Lyon and spend more time there....
